I’d been waiting to catch Kurt Vile for at least four years. His touring schedule and my shooting schedule just never seemed to synch up. That is, until his show at The Fillmore in October. His set drew heavily from his most recent release, b’leive i’m goin down.

I’m always thankful when there is a photo pit; I never take a pit for granted, especially at The Fillmore. Unfortunately there was no pit for Kurt Vile, so my angles were limited. Thankfully the crowd was very mellow and generous, so I had clean sightlines.
The Fillmore’s light was psychedelic and saturated, which worked to my advantage.
