My favorite modern music project, Mahogany, are breakin’ through with their newest, “Phase Break.” There aren’t many bands in the last decade (plus) who can legitimately claim to have torn the corporate pop music manual up to bits; everyone in the industry wants popularity at some level. Mahogany have successfully done it, but instead of leaving the pages behind and bragging that they’ve shunned the status quo, they’ve made confetti out the rule book. Enjoy “Phase Break,” it is a wonderful track from a pair of wonderful minds. Mahogany play SXSW on March 13th at the Barbarella Patio (12:45 P.M.), and headline the SESAC showcase the same night around midnite. They’ll be making a cameo at Waterloo Cycles on the 15th as well. That’s three chances to see them at SXSW!
