According to NME, Our longtime favorites Echo And The Bunnymen will be launching a copy of their seminal 1984 album ‘Ocean Rain’ into outer space:
“NASA astronaut Timothy Kopra is set to take a copy of the classic album, his favourite record, with him when he blasts off to the International Space Station on June 13.”
Here at The Color Awesome, we’re also very excited about the live Ocean Rain reissue. It’s scheduled for release on May 30th via the Bunnymen. The box set will include a live version of the album recorded in the Liverpool Arena last November, plus a DVD documentary and booklet. The first 1,000 copies will be signed by both frontman Ian McCulloch and guitarist Will Sergeant. You know one of those has my name on it!
Can’t wait till the 30th to get some live Ocean Rain? You can check out my photoset from last fall’s Bunnymen Radio City Music Hall performance of Ocean Rain.
I am beyond excited. Echo IS my teenagehood. Along with the Cure.
