For months, I’ve been telling all my friends that ska legends Madness would be announcing a northern California date the week of April 16th. How could I be so sure? For years, The Coachella Festival has provided a bounty of shows in its wake. This year was bound to be a banner crop of shows because Coachella is taking place on two back to back weekends. What are all those bands going to do in the 5 days in between? Why pay one-off shows in Northern California, silly! My friends over at Spinning Platters have tracked “Fauxchella” for years.
Today I’m ecstatic that Madness have finally revealed that they will be playing The Warfield in San Francisco on Thursday April 19th. Tickets go on sale Friday February 10, 2012 and will range in price from $35.00-$42.50 plus the normal insanely high service fees. It’s interesting that this show is sponsored by Golden Voice – the same folks that put on the Coachella fest. The last time Madness paid the bay area a visit was in 2005. Welcome back, boys!
