Erik Blood – “Tantas Coisas” / “So Many Things” – Official Video from Brian O’Shea on Vimeo.
Here’s a lovely video from the upcoming Brazilian film The Center of Gravity featuring a score by Erik Blood. How does one get hooked up with scoring a film? From a friend of a friend who’s got a brother who knows the director (or at least I think that’s how it went!). In short, social networking. It’s the result of putting yourself out there, and getting word of mouth. Steven Richter, the director of The Center of Gravity loved what he heard from Erik’s debut, The Way We Live and approached him to do the score. I’ve heard it, it’s gorgeous and it’s available now his bandcamp page. Erik will also be releasing his second proper album very soon.
Erik Blood is a local Seattle producer and one of my dearest friends. Along with his amazing solo debut, Erik was a member of one time local heroes, The Turn-ons, and has produced a ton of up and coming Seattle bands. His most recent output was engineering and mixing the Shabazz Palaces Sub Pop debut, Black Up. Check out Erik’s production page for more information on his collaborations. Erik’s partner in crime (and everything else!) Brian O’Shea edited the music video and is the closest thing to a preview I’ve been able to find for the film.
If you trust our taste, immediately check your favorite digital retailer for a copy of The Turn-ons’ East and Erik’s debut, The Way We Live. Recommended for the pop-driven shoegazer in you!
