Happy Birthday, Peter Hook. You are a treasure in the world of pop music. Your ability to create the “lift” of most New Order songs is not something that should be taken lightly. “1963” is a perfect example of a New Order song that would just sit there, listless, without your gorgeous melody. Your contemporaries liberally borrowed from your unique sound, which was just as important an introduction into pop music as drum machines and synths themselves. We’re hoping the differences that New Order has had its entire life can find a way mend once again. It would be great to have you on the next, supposed, New Order album and tour.
