06.10.11Scottish Indie Bands Collaborate for Mental Health AlbumOn June 28, Chemikal Underground will release the album First Edition by the Fruit Tree Foundation, a supergroup of leading lights from the Scottish indie scene. Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, the Twilight Sad leader James Graham, the Delgados' Emma Pollock, Idlewild's Rod Jones, Alasdair Roberts, James Yorkston, Sparrow and the Workshop's Jill O'Sullivan, Karine Polwart, and Jenny Reeve all wrote the album together in a house in the Scottish countryside over the course of a few days. 05.19.10The Twilight Sad to release The Wrong Car EP, Mogwai + Errors RemixesThe Twilight Sad are putting the finishing touches on a new EP titled The Wrong Car, the first new recorded material since their much loved 2009 album, Forget the Night Ahead. The Wrong Car, which is due July 26 via FatCat Records in the UK, will feature four new tracks. The opening two songs — title track “The Wrong Car” and “Throw Yourself In The Water Again” — are unreleased songs from the band’s Forget sessions, while the latter two are remixes by the band’s peers. 12.05.09Video of the Day: Twilight Sad’s Seven Years of LettersAs if we didn't like The Twilight Sad's "Seven Years of Letters" already, we're truly smitten after seeing the new video. It's directed by Adam Stafford and produced by Accidental Media. I've seen a few other reviews of the video that describe a cryptic gang, but I don't think that's the true plot. It's a man a woman and a child in cloth masks, pulling an even smaller child's body and dumping it into the sea. 09.29.09New To Me: The Twilight SadI saw The Twilight Sad perform live two weeks ago, and I haven't been able to get James Graham's haunting vocals out of my head every since. Historically, I'm not a big fan of loud, dense, music, but this band has changed my mind. I hope to eventually put up a review of their live show, but in the meantime here are two songs.
