08.09.11PIAS UK Warehouse Burns in UK Riots, 150 indie labels lose entire inventoryAccording to the BBC and Pitchfork, A Sony distribution warehouse in North London burned to the ground on August 9th in the third straight night of riots in the UK. The 200,000 square-foot center housed the entire inventory of PIAS UK, the primary distribution hub for more than 150 independent labels. Fortunately there were no injuries in the blaze, but all inventory is lost. XL/Beggars, Warp, Rough Trade, Domino, 4AD, Sub Pop, FatCat, and Mute are among the 150+ indie labels affected. Late last year, Ariel Pink and his band Haunted Graffiti signed to 4AD. Now they've birthed the world to "Round and Round", a smooth ditty from their forthcoming 4AD debut. Download Ariel Pink's MP3 via pitchfork: "Round and Round" 4AD will release "Round and Round" as a limited 7" single and digital download on April 26, with "Mistaken Wedding" as its B-side.
