03.08.10LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Internet Sensation!’According to NME, LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy has revealed his new album's working title is 'Internet Sensation!', because he hasn't had time to think of a proper name. "This record's horrifying work title is 'Internet Sensation!'", Murphy explained to NME Radio's Jon Hillcock. "I was thinking, 'What would a guy who's been out of the music scene for a long time, and has kids [do to promote himself]?'. 'We gotta be internet sensations, that's what everyone is now!'" 03.08.10R.I. P. Mark Linkous of SparklehorseThis weekend, we learned the sad news that Sparklehorse frontman Mark Linkous had taken his own life. The New York Times reports that Linkous shot himself in the heart in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was 47. Sparklehorse was one of the first bands I photographed for Ice Cream Man. I remember being enthralled by his wispy, blowing hair, his focus and ease. I had to go and revisit my shots, hoping to see something that would help me make sense of it all. 12.05.09Bankrupt Radio One DJ Mike Read forced to flog rare record collectionFORMER Radio One DJ Mike Read was forced to sell off his prized collection of 120,000 vinyls, featuring rare Beatles records, after being declared bankrupt. The records which feature pop legend Billy Fury and Liverpool band Echo and the Bunnymen are estimated to be worth at least £1m. The entire collection was auctioned this past Tuesday, and much to his dismay, only brought in £100K. CDs and personal items went unclaimed as buyers shunned high starting prices. 09.15.09Music Video: Meet Me On The Equinox from The New Moon SountrackI had thought Death Cab For Cutie were going to perform their new song from New Moon Soundtrack song, "Met Me on the Equinox" live on the VMA's last Sunday. When they didn't, I was so disappointed! Since there was no performance, I decided to create my own music video for the song using images from the band playing live. I downloaded the stream from MTV, stripped the audio, and added my own pix. YouTube will probably take it down soon, but in the meantime enjoy the new DCFC song!
