We’ve been hinting on what we’re excited about in 2012, And Seattle’s Stephanie is right at the top of the list. Tomorrow night at Neumo’s will be another chance to believe the deserved hype around these guys. They’ll be playing songs from their upcoming One Glove mini-album, produced by another fellow on the bill, the oft name-dropped Erik Blood who also has a new record coming in 2012. Stephanie hits that pop v. experimental, 4AD button in me. I can’t describe them other than to categorize it, and probably incorrectly, as post-punk. It’s ultra melodic, emotionally wrenching and extremely danceable. Add Flexions, and Seattle’s nom du jour, OC notes as the DJ and you have the future of Seattle at arm’s reach.
