Depeche Mode’s Original Songwriters Reunite For ‘Techno Album’ After Three Decades

Depeche Mode guitarist Martin Gore has teamed up with founding band member Vince Clarke for a new side project.

The pair have re-united to record a techno album which they are currently in the process of mixing. “Out of the blue I got an e-mail from [Clarke] just saying, ‘I’m interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?’,” Gore told Billboard. “This was maybe nine months, a year ago. He said, ‘No pressure, no deadlines,’ so I said, ‘OK,’ and that’s what we’ve been doing the last six months.”

Clarke quit the band in 1981 and went on to form Yazoo and Erasure. He has had no contact with the band since, until now… /via NME
