New To Me: Color Theory

You’ve got you love any song that repeated wishes “If they would just shut up”. Mr Shuffleupagus recently left us a comment mentioning he’d enjoyed this tune from our January Indie Rock Playlis post. Well we think it’s swell, too!

Based in Huntington Beach, California, Color Theory is the moniker of one Brian Hazard. This single is from the band’s album “Sound.” It’s packaged in a 6-panel Digipak with original art by himitsuhana, the CD is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide and is available for order at colortheory.com. The sound is a Goldfrapp-esque dark 80’s synths piano pop.

According to Audiodrums.com, In addition to the standard Limited Edition CD, Brian Hazard of Color Theory is trying out something new: The Individual Edition CD. Hazard describes it as follows:

“As a souvenir of your support, I will create a personalized custom CD featuring unique mixdowns of each of the 12 songs I recorded for the album. The outtakes “Touch” and “Release the Hounds” are not on the standard Limited Edition CD and will not appear on any future physical release. The disc will open with a token of my appreciation – a spoken ”thank you” mentioning you by name.”

You can read all about it and get a taste of each of the album’s 10 tracks on Color Theory’s website.
