I must be living under a rock. Oh wait. No, I just live in the States.
Coventry’s best ever band, The Specials, played Birmingham’s O2 Academy a few months back as part of their 30th anniversary reunion tour. Dave Musson was the sole photographer on hand to document the show, and he’s got a spiffy post up on his photo blog with with some great images, and there’s a full review at BrightonBirmingham Live.
I’ve never seen the Specials or Terry Hall perform live, and I hope they make it to this side of the pond sometime soon. I’ve been a huge fan since the early 80’s and would welcome the chance to see these guys live. It was almost the entire original lineup – Terry Hall, Neville Staple, Roddy Radiation, Sir Horace Gentleman, John Bradbury and Lynval Golding, all original members, took part in the reunion.
They’ve also recently announced a series of dates in November as well.
Setlist, November tourdates and video after the jump for you true rude boys (and girls!)
